Bharti Airtel, one of the country’s largest telecom companies, has entered the metaverse. The company has launched a 20-screen multiplex in a metaverse called ‘Partynite’. This virtual theater will be called ‘Xstream’ and will have content from various OTT channels. This service will be available for a free trial in which the first episode of an OTT series or portions of regional language films can be shown.

With the launch of this service, Bharti Airtel has moved towards Web3. The monthly subscription to Xstream will cost Rs 149. “With Metaverse, we look forward to expanding our audience base.

This will allow audiences to watch premium content from Xstream,” said Shashwat Sharma, marketing director of the company. Looking like a normal multiplex, the digital form of people can be seen walking and shopping in this metaverse multiplex. Xstream is produced by Bharti Airtel’s integrated media agency Essence and Gamitronics develop Partynite Metaverse.

The metaverse and NFT gaming segments have grown in recent years. Investment firm Andreessen Horowitz has announced a fund of $ 600 million to increase research and development related to these. This fund pool is being called ‘Game Fund One’ and will focus on game studios and gaming infrastructure providers. With this, the venture capital fund for the Web3 gaming industry has grown to nearly $3 billion.

Metaverse and NFT gaming segments have grown in recent years

The recently created authority VARA in Dubai has started work on its presence in the metaverse. For this, VARA has partnered with the Metaverse-related firm Sandbox. VARA plans to create a virtual headquarters. It will be called MetaHQ. With this VARA aims to move forward in Web3. VARA will be the first crypto regulatory authority to enter the metaverse. Bloomberg Intelligence recently said in a report that the Metaverse market could reach $800 billion by 2024. The Caribbean country of Barbados plans to open a digital embassy in the metaverse.

Xstream is produced by Bharti Airtel’s integrated media agency Essence and Gamitronics develop Partynite Metaverse.

According to Airtel,

the multiplex will offer sampling of original shows and movies in languages besides English and Hindi.

The company said that the idea was conceptualised by media agency Essence and developed by Gamitronics, the parent company of PartyNite.

“We all know people’s love for movies and entertainment in India. Through the metaverse, we are looking to tap into a larger audience, giving content enthusiasts an opportunity to sample Airtel’s Xstream Premium offering and, thus, aiding in driving higher adoption”, Airtel’s director of marketing Shashwat Sharma said on the launch.
