Hughes Communication and Bharti Airtel have partnered for satellite broadband service in the Indian market. While Airtel is the second largest telecom company in the country, HUGHES has over 50 years of experience in satellite communication and multi-transport technology. HUGHE’s parent company HCIPL uses a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) for enterprise network which is based on satellite connectivity.

The partnership between Airtel and Hughes

HCIPL manages Airtel’s VSAT customers.

According to a company statement, the number of customers of Airtel VSAT has exceeded 2,00,000. Airtel is currently the largest satellite service provider operating in the country. HCIPL provides broadband networks, solutions, and services to Airtel. Simply put, HCIPL manages Airtel’s VSAT customers. VSAT’s service is for banks, aeronautical, small to medium-sized businesses, government offices in sectors like education and private businesses.

While Airtel is the second largest telecom company in the country, HUGHES has over 50 years of experience in satellite communication and multi-transport technology.

Bharti Airtel Limited, also known as Airtel, is an Indian multinational telecommunications services company based in New Delhi, India. It operates in 18 countries across South Asia and Africa, as well as the Channel Islands.
