Amazon Kids+ subscription service launches its first mobile games

Amazon has a sleuth of services, especially for its Prime members. Now, the company has launched its first original mobile games for Amazon Kids+. Games like Super Spy Ryan and Do, Re, and Mi are now available for both iOS and Android. This is the first time the tech giant is venturing into the ever-growing mobile gaming segment.

Amazon Kids+ is a subscription-based entertainment platform, especially for children. The platform offers several services like kid-friendly TV shows, movies, books, and so on. The list now includes mobile games for kids, which are based on TV shows Super Spy Ryan and Do, Re, and Mi – available on the Amazon Kids+ platform.

Amazon Kids+ prides itself on designing games as well as other forms of entertainment with kid safety in mind. Thus, “Super Spy Ryan” will have no friend lists or chat features, and all players are given anonymous Spy-themed usernames. There is also “Single Player Mode” as well as “Party Mode” so kids can play safe no matter what.

The multiplayer mobile game “Super Spy Ryan,” is based on the content special created by the pocket watch is available now on the Apple and Google Play app stores in the U.S., the U.K., and Ireland, and is coming soon to Canada, Germany, and Japan, per today’s announcement. It will be coming soon to the Amazon Kids+ subscription on Amazon Fire Tablets. “Super Spy Ryan” brings the beloved kids’ show to life so ages 6-9 can experience stealing birthday gifts from the evil Packrat’s lair, and using Gus’ slime cannon and X-ray goggles to fight off Packrat’s henchmen.

“We focus on providing millions of kids with a variety of content that entertains, educates, and delights — from games to animated and live-action series, books, music, and so much more – across our family of Fire, Kindle, Glow, and Echo devices,” the company said in a blog post.

“However, we also wanted to do something special for kids and parents who use smartphones. That’s why we are excited to announce that we are bringing the fun of Amazon Kids+ games to even more customers with our first Original mobile games: Super Spy Ryan and Do, Re & Mi,” it added.

In the game, players compete to find out who can rescue the most stolen birthday gifts from the evil Packrat’s lair. Standing in their way are Packrat’s patrolling henchmen; if they catch you, they’ll make you drop all the presents you are carrying. At launch, the game features six different playable characters from the Ryan’s World Universe, each with special unique gameplay abilities—like Gus’ slime cannon and X-ray goggles that reveal players hiding in ball pits.
