Today is the last day for Amazon Prime membership at ₹999. Starting December 13, the Amazon Prime annual membership will be available from₹1,499. The new Amazon prices will be enacted on all packs, monthly, quarterly, and annually. The Amazon Prime subscription includes membership to several Prime services such as Prime Video, Prime shopping benefits, and Prime Music.
Amazon Prime’s new monthly pack will now be charged at ₹179 instead of ₹129. The quarterly pack which costs ₹329 till today will move up to ₹459. The 365 days membership pack has been hiked to ₹1,499 effective December 13 against ₹999 currently. While prices are being hiked, Amazon Prime subscription benefits remain the same. The membership offers free one to two-day delivery on eligible addresses with no minimum order value required for free standard delivery.
The company officials said:
“Existing Prime members can continue their membership, for the duration of their membership plan at the current price. However, after the price change, you can choose to renew your membership at the new price.”
The company had also indicated that the price hike is due to the constant addition of new services to Prime Membership. At Rs 999 per year, the Prime subscription remains the most affordable and lucrative deal when compared to plans offered by Netflix, Apple, and more.
It also offers access to Prime Video and Prime Music content. In addition, the Amazon Prime membership also offers unlimited 5 percent reward points on Amazon shopping with the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card, access to free in-game content on popular mobile games with Prime Gaming, and free access to a rotating selection of books with Prime Reading.
Here’s how you can get an Amazon Prime membership at the old price
The good news is that you can get an Amazon Prime membership plan at the old price of Rs 999 if you get it recharged before December 13.
- Open the Amazon website
- log in with your account
- Click on the banner stating the offer ends December 13
- Select your plan- 3 months prime, monthly Prime, and annual prime
- After paying through an electronic payment method, you will be able to access the Amazon Prime content.
Additionally, Amazon Prime will also revise its prices for subscribers aged between 18–24 in the country who are a part of their special Prime Youth offer since May 2021. However, in this case, the prices are being dropped. The monthly and quarterly Prime membership charges for young customers will be brought down to Rs. 64 and Rs. 164 from Rs. 89 and Rs. 299, respectively. Its yearly charges have been reduced from Rs 749 to Rs 499.
