Battlefield 2042 PC System Requirements Revealed With Technical Playtests Starting Next Week

The next entry into the Battlefield franchise has officially been revealed, and it’s called Battlefield 2042. It arrives on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One on October 22. Preorders are now live at Best Buy or Microsoft. Six playtest sessions will be available between August 12 and August 15, five lasting for three hours and the other one for nine hours, according to email invites distributed by EA and viewed by VGC.

It will feature bigger maps than ever before and more players battling it out across the giant locals. Battlefield 2042 will also introduce dynamic weather events like sandstorms and tornadoes that wind up altering play and wreaking havoc. The Portal mode will allow players to use classic weapons, maps, and vehicles and customize the core gameplay mechanics such as bullet velocity and team sizes. Select modes will feature AI bots that you can team up with and fight against.

Battlefield 2042 recently revealed its “Portal” mode during EA Play, which will see maps, soldiers, weapons, and vehicles from previous Battlefield installments like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, along with custom game-modes, interact with elements from Battlefield 2042. An open beta is coming in September prior to the game’s October 22 launch. Players who preorder the game will get early access to the open beta. You also gain the “Pre Order Pack,” with exclusive cosmetics.
