  • The new feature is similar to the feature offered by Skype and Zoom.
  • Clubhouse recently rolled out support for 13 new languages.

Clubhouse voice rooms will now support text messages. In an update announced recently, Clubhouse has added the ability to send and receive text messages on the application. The application says that it understands that all users might not want to raise their hands and speak while everyone else listens to them. Some users just want to be a part of the conversation, with the audience. Creators on the platform will have control over in-room chat options. They will be able to activate chats when they create a chat room.

Clubhouse Sessions And Social Audio Languages

The Clubhouse has also recently added 13 new languages to its social audio platform. The languages included Arabic, Bengali, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Farsi/ Persian, Hausa, Igbo, Marathi, Nepali, Somali, Thai, Turkish, and Yoruba. Users who want to use a localized version of Clubhouse can now switch to one of these languages.

In a blog post, Clubhouse stated that the platform wants everyone to be able to participate in live discussions, whether by voice or text. The new function, dubbed In-Room Chat, is comparable to the text chat area within a live room given by Skype and Zoom. Moderators of voice rooms will be able to erase chat messages, while founders of new rooms will be able to disable text chat.

There will be a dedicated icon at the bottom left of the screen for rooms that have the in-Room Chat feature enabled. After the live audio session has ended, all the messages sent during the session can be read by anyone listening to the Replay of the room. The clubhouse is also hoping that the new feature will help creators conduct quick polls or source questions on a live chat with people.

In-Room Chat should be rolling out to everyone with the latest version of Clubhouse installed right now. If you don’t yet see it, make sure to update and if you don’t yet have Clubhouse installed you can bag it from the App Store now. It’s free, after all.
