- Epic Pledges all Fortnite proceeds made till April 3 towards Ukraine Relief Efforts.
- The company has set up a page that shows the charities it will be donating to, and how it will work.
- Using V-Bucks in Fortnite will not be included as those are not real-money purchases.
Epic Games and Xbox are both donating all of their proceeds from Fortnite for the next two weeks to Ukraine relief efforts. Epic is committing all its Fortnite proceeds from March 20, 2022, through April 3, 2022, to humanitarian relief for people affected by the war in Ukraine. Xbox is joining us in this effort and is committing their net proceeds for Fortnite during this time so that they can get more aid to the people of Ukraine.
They are on the ground providing emergency aid, including health support, food and clean water, essential supplies, legal aid, and shelter. More organizations will be added to this list in the coming weeks.
The news comes as other gaming-related efforts have managed to raise millions of dollars for humanitarian relief following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. A bundle of indie games on Itch.io raised more than $6 million earlier this month, and a Ukraine-focused Humble Bundle has already surpassed $9 million.

All real-money Fortnite purchases made between March 20, 2022, and April 3, 2022, will be distributed. This includes V-Buck packs, Fortnite Crew, gifted Battle Passes, and cosmetic packs such as the Voidlander Pack sold for real money. Retail store purchases of in-game cosmetics and V-Bucks cards will also be included if they are redeemed in-game during this window. Using V-Bucks in Fortnite will not be included as those are not real-money purchases.
This program doesn’t alter the Creator’s earnings. Epic will separately fund all Creator affiliate payments from code usage between March 20, 2022, and April 3, 2022, so that all of Epic’s Fortnite proceeds earned during that time period can be distributed to humanitarian relief organizations.
What’s more, Epic Games will not be waiting for the actual funds to be credited from the platform and payment partners. In a bid to ensure that the financial relief reaches the organizations as quickly as possible, it will log and send funds to the organization as soon as transactions are reported in the back end.
It’s nice to see Microsoft give the cut of Fortnite revenue it receives until April 3 to causes like UNICEF and the UN Refugee Agency too. Here’s hoping Sony and Nintendo follow suit. All three have stopped selling games and consoles in Russia over the last few weeks, but donating to relief causes will have a more tangible impact on the people of Ukraine.
