Meta-owned Facebook has announced that it is rolling out more options for people to connect over shared interests, including Reels in Facebook Groups and updates to Group profiles. This feature is aimed at helping users engage more deeply and making the management of Groups an easier job for admins.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, over 100 million people entering in new Facebook Groups every day. With that in mind, the company decided to help admins build “culture in their groups” by testing new ways to highlight top contributing members and adding a new daily summary in Admin Assist.
The company says Reels “let you express your voice in your communities through creative and immersive videos.”
The Platform is also testing updates to Groups Profile to make it easier to foster community relationships. An About Me section will let you highlight the information you want to share with your community while a new optional indicator will let others know if you’re open to messaging.
Further, Facebook is testing the ability for group admins and moderators to create view-only chats to send one-way communications to all of their members, without having to go through the pains of moderation.

Group admins and members can also add creative elements such as audio, text overlay, and filters on top of their videos before sharing to bring their stories to life.
