Garena has announced that it is rescheduling its upcoming Free Fire World Series tournament (FFWS 20201 SG). The tournament is now scheduled to begin from May 30, 6:30 pm IST. The company notes that this move was made keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation around the globe and the health and safety of everyone involved.
The event will be held in Singapore and will consist of two phases. The first one being the Prelims of the tournament, which will be held as per the original schedule on May 22nd, 2021, while the second is the finals which will take place on May 30th.
Garena announced that two Indian teams that qualified for the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2021 Singapore won’t be able to compete due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
This is due to the Singapore government announcing that all long-term pass holders and short-term visitors with a travel history to India won’t be allowed to enter or transit through the country from 11:59 pm, April 23.

- Galaxy Racer (India – now excluded)
- FLUXO (Brazil)
- Geek Fam (Malaysia/ Philippines)
- Evos Esports ID (Indonesia)
- Team Aze (Latin America)
- Evos Esports TH (Thailand)
- LGDS (Taiwan)
- Burst the Sky (Vietnam)
- Silence (CIS)
- VIP Esports (MENA)
Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore: Format
According to official announcements, The Free Fire World Place will take place has two separate stages.
- Play-ins: 12 selected teams from all the above-mentioned countries will engage each other in the Play-ins which is scheduled for May 22. From here top 2 teams qualify for the finals.
- Finals: Finals are set for May 30 where the top 10 teams from the whole world along with the top 2 teams from the play-ins will battle it out for the top spot. Matches will take place on the selected maps such as Bermuda, Purgatory, and Kalahari.
Free Fire World Series 2021: How to watch?
The Free Fire World Series 2021 will take place from 22nd to 30th May, live from Singapore.
The tournament will be streamed on the official YouTube and Facebook channels of Free Fire esports, while the broadcast times will be announced as the event approaches.

Prize Pool of World Series 2021:
Being one of the biggest surprises by Garena, it has been announced that the prize pool to be distributed will be $2,000,000.
This places it as the biggest ever offered by Garena for any of their official events, since the inception of the Free Fire competitive scene.
