Genshin Impact developer MiHoYo has announced that it’s working on a new game called Honkai: Star Rail and sign-ups for its closed beta event start on October 8. In those games, players led a group of Valkyrie warriors into battle against the Honkai, a mysterious force that corrupts all life around it. Honkai also featured gacha mechanics, letting players roll for a chance to earn characters and items using crystals, which could be purchased with real-world money.
Sign-ups for the first closed beta test, which will be held across PC and iOS, are available now at the game’s official website. It will support English, Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese language options. Only a limited number of participants will be accepted.
Now, miHoYo is returning to the Honkai series after establishing global success with Genshin Impact. You’ll need to have your miHoYo account ID handy to sign up for the beta, and once this is complete, miHoYo will accept participants at random from those who have signed up. It’s not surprising to see MiHoYo return to Honkai, then, especially after finding worldwide success with Genshin Impact.
