Google Podcasts will be discontinued in 2024: users requested to transport Podcasts to YouTube Music app. By the end of 2023, YouTube Tracks users around the world will be able to access podcasts without a subscription.
Google Podcasts will be discontinued in 2024 and instead, Google Podcasts will ask users to go to Podcasts in the YouTube Tunes app. Users will continue to have access to YouTube Music and Google Podcasts until 2024, when the latter will be shut down.
Google says the business is tailored to the usage patterns of podcast listeners. Citing Edison’s records, Google said that 23% of weekly podcast subscribers in the US listen to podcasts through YouTube, while only 4% say they choose Google Podcasts.

In a blog post announcing the shift to YouTube Songs, Google said, “Looking forward to 2024, we will increase our investment in the podcast experience on YouTube Music – making it an even better standard destination for fans and podcasters with YouTube – The most skilled talents in network, discovery and audio/visual switching.”
