India Launches $500,000 Scholarship for Indo-Pacific Engineering Students – Full Details
India has announced a $500,000 scholarship initiative under the Quad partnership for engineering students from the Indo-Pacific region. This scholarship will support 50 students in pursuing a four-year undergraduate engineering program at a Government of India-funded technical institution. The initiative was announced during the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined other Quad leaders. The aim is to strengthen ties and foster the next generation of science, technology, and policy leaders across the Indo-Pacific.
This initiative was launched at the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, attended by leaders from India, the U.S., Japan, and Australia. The goal is to enhance educational cooperation and develop the next generation of science and technology leaders in the Indo-Pacific. The scholarship reflects the Quad’s commitment to fostering people-to-people connections in the region.
“We applaud the expansion of the Quad Infrastructure Fellowships to more than 2,200 experts, and note that Quad partners have already provided well over 1,300 fellowships since the initiative was announced at last year’s Summit. We also appreciate the workshop organized by the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure in India, working to empower partners across the Indo-Pacific to strengthen power sector resilience,” the declaration read.
