After Apple, Google, and Meta, it is now Microsoft’s turn to bring the latest products and innovations. Microsoft Inspire event held on Wednesday also unveiled a significant feature on the software end of things – iCloud integration on the Windows 11 Photos app, apple Music on Xbox, and more

Under this new integration with Apple’s iCloud and the Photos app in Microsoft’s Windows 11, iPhone users will soon be able to access photos and videos on their Windows devices. To enable the integration, Windows 11 users need to install iCloud from the Microsoft Store and sync it with the Photos app.

Soon, Users will be able to Access iCloud Photos on Windows 11

Considering that the Photos app already displayed stuff from OneDrive, the “All Photos” gallery view will now include images from three different locations – local storage, OneDrive, and iCloud. Additionally, you’ll also be able to make use of a dedicated page that you can access from the side navigation pane labeled “iCloud Photos.”

This integration is currently available to Windows Insiders, with availability for all Windows 11 users beginning in November.

Microsoft also announces the availability of Apple Music on Xbox. It is the second Apple streaming service coming to Microsoft Xbox – the first was Apple TV. Both the Apple Music and Apple TV apps are also coming to Windows next year.

Carmen Zlateff, VP, of Windows User Experience releases the statement

“We’re making it easier than ever for customers to access their iPhone photos and the entertainment they love from Apple on their Xbox and Windows devices”

It is revealed that Apple Music and Apple TV apps will be available in Microsoft Store next year. Apple Music is also available on Xbox consoles in addition to Spotify and Pandora music streaming apps.

The new partnership with Apple can help users get access to parts of their Apple ecosystem while using Windows devices. This is similar to how Microsoft has enabled messages, calls, and more via Android phones on Windows via the Phone Link app.
