Even a delay couldn’t keep Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) off our screens for long, as an all-new trailer for Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One has just been released, displaying the same globe-trotting and dramatic stunts audiences have come to expect from the genre.
After being teased earlier this year at CinemaCon, Paramount has officially released the first Mission: Impossible 7 trailer. After confirming Czerny’s return as Kittridge, the video shifts into traditional Mission: Impossible-style, showcasing a montage of the characters in action. At the same time, Ethan Hunt does what he does best: run and leap from tall buildings and/or cliffs. The video concludes with a widely publicized stunt, which has been teased by behind-the-scenes photos: Cruise’s plunge from a cliff on top of a motorbike. This new trailer sees the team getting back together yet again for another death-defying mission. The trailer showcases a handful of new action sequences, presumably to be expanded on in another, longer trailer, including motorcycle stunts, car chases, and plenty of Tom Cruise-centric, death-defying sequences that are sure to push stunts on film to their absolute limits. Alongside Cruise, the cast for Dead Reckoning also includes returning cast members Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson, with Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, and Cary Elwes playing new characters. Esai Morales will also appear as the film’s primary antagonist.
The movie marks the start of the top for Cruise’s super-spy alter ego, Ethan Hunt. As far back as Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, the hypothesis has raged about when Cruise can be able to retire the character, and the subsequent two films seem like the franchise’s collection finale. McQuarrie drives that impression residence with some direct callbacks to the very first Mission: Impossible, which blasted into theaters in the summertime of 1996.
Those callbacks embrace the returns of Henry Czerny as former IMF director Eugene Kittridge and a train top battle between Cruise and new unhealthy man Esai Morales that echoes the climax of the unique film. Even Cruise’s close-cropped coiffure resembles the youthful Hunt’s look.
Dead Reckoning won’t just be a crash course in ’90s nostalgia: the film also brings back allies. And adversaries who have been introduced in successive entries. Including Simon Pegg’s Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa Faust, and Vanessa Kirby’s Alanna Mitsopolis. Leaping into the M: I mix with both fists is Captain Carter herself, Hayley Atwell, who plays Grace. A new character with ambiguous loyalties. Also along for the ride is Ving Rhames’s Luther Stickell. Who has been a loyal ally of Hunt’s from the very first film.
Cruise retains creative control over the series, which has been on a roll since the fourth film. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, with each successive picture making more than the previous.With 2018’s Mission: Impossible. Fallout generating a whopping USD 800 million globally, as per Screenrant. The first installment of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning will be released in cinemas on July 14, 2023.
