Ola stops production of S1 electric scooter, customers can upgrade to S1 Pro

The company will focus on the production of S1 Pro instead of Ola S1

Ola Electric has announced that it has stopped production of its Ola S1 electric scooter. Instead, the company will focus resources on the production of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. According to the company, the demand for the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter is more than the standard model. In the recent past, some Ola S1 buyers had complained about the quality of the scooter, after which the company is giving those customers a chance to upgrade to the Ola S1 Pro model.

According to a screenshot shared by RushLane, Ola Electric on Saturday, January 15, sent an email to buyers saying that the company is stopping production of the standard Ola S1 electric scooter and it will be made available by the end of this year. However, the email also mentions that if Ola S1 buyers want, they can upgrade to Ola S1 Pro by paying a premium in the next payment window. This window will open on Friday, January 21st at 6 pm.

The email further states that Ola Electric will ship the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter in January and February. It is also mentioned that the post-shipment delivery may take 10 to 20 days depending on the location of the buyer and the process of the Regional Transport Office (RTO).

Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has tweeted that the company will offer the features of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter to the standard Ola S1 electric scooter owners through a performance upgrade. Ola S1 owners will have to pay Rs 30,000 for a performance upgrade to the Ola S1 Pro’s range, Hyper Mode, and all its core features along with other features.
