Several users are facing issues with the Paytm app.
Indian payment platform Paytm briefly went down earlier today for many users. Affected users reported not being able to log in to the Paytm app and website, and were left unable to make payments. Users trying to make payments were automatically logged out and were left unable to log back in. Paytm has now fixed the issue, and users can easily log in again using their credentials.
Sources had confirmed Paytm transactions were down and were instead taking users straight to the login screen, where entering credentials again didn’t help. Instead, users were met with a ‘Something went wrong, please try again after some time’ error. A number of Paytm users also took to Twitter to complain about the issue.
As per the site, 47 percent of users reported issues with the app, 27 percent with payment, and 25 percent reported login issues.
Users reported that they were unable to log in and make payments.
Technical snags were reported from Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and several other cities.
Paytm allows customers to pay for services including prepaid and postpaid mobile services, direct-to-home recharge, money transfers, etc. It is available on all platforms including Android, Apple’s iOS, and Windows Phone.
Later, Paytm tweeted, “Due to a network error across Paytm, a few of you might be facing an issue in logging into the Paytm Money App/website. We are already working on fixing the issue at the earliest. We will update you as soon as it is resolved.”
Later, Paytm posted on its Twitter handle that the issue was resolved. “We quickly resolved the error that briefly affected some users today. You can continue to use #PaytmSeUPI without worries,” it tweeted.
As per the outage tracking website down detector,
the website received 611 reports from the users about the app not working. The down detector shows a huge spike between 9 AM and 10 AM when Paytm faced maximum issues. As per the website, over 66 percent of users faced issues while logging in, whereas 5 percent of users reported that they were unable to make payments and the remaining 29 percent of users faced other issues with the app. The issues were faced by users living in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and several other cities.
Paytm acknowledged the flow and noted that it is working to fix the issue. “Due to a network error across Paytm, a few of you might be facing an issue in logging into the Paytm Money App/website. We are already working on fixing the issue at the earliest. We will update you as soon as it is resolved,” the company tweeted.
