- Players can use the new Bits editor to create shortform gameplay videos.
- Sony’s PS5 became the fastest selling console on the market.
A recent PlayStation 5 update adds Bits, a new Share Factory Studio feature that lets users edit and share gameplay in a format similar to TikTok. Sony’s new-generation console launched back in November 2020, delivering state-of-the-art hardware and software to rival Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S. The Share Factory Studio PS5 video editing app receives 4K60 HDR last year, and now the beloved feature has gotten a number of exciting new improvements.
Share Factory Studio is a free editing app from PlayStation that allows players to capture and edit gameplay footage on their consoles and share them on various social media platforms. The app comes with advanced video and audio editing features, including support for HDR video and the ability to add animation, stickers, filters and voice effects.

In a Blog post, Sony explained the new editing feature — which it has deemed “Bits”— lets gamers choose a curated Bit style for their gameplay clip, or customize their footage even further with the “Quick Edit” mode. Players can expect new Bits styles to roll out every week. Bits themes will be based on special events, holidays, seasons and trending content.
“Our goal with Bits is to make it super easy and fun for PlayStation gamers to create and share short-form gameplay videos for sharing cool achievements, jokes, stunts, and any other type of eye-catching content.” company in the official PlayStation blog. Bits is also the perfect companion to the recently released Game Capture feature in the PS app. All the Bits you create in Share Factory Studio can access automatically from your phone and then shared to your favorite social apps.
Sony’s PS5 became the fastest selling console on the market. Its demand is increasing and it is not going to stop anytime soon. However, Sony does not have enough units to meet the demand and the Japanese giant is looking to improve upon the same. Sony has revealed that it wants its PS5 production to increase so that it can meet unprecedented demand. The app is packed with advanced video and audio editing features, including support for HDR video and the ability to add animation, stickers, filters and voice effects. But for those who are overwhelm by Share Factory Studio’s many options, Bits seems to be an easy way to churn out social media-friendly gameplay clips.
