- Telegram is rolling out its monthly update that brings a host of features and upgrades for Android and iOS clients.
- The new updates are rolling out with the latest version ‘Telegram 8.2 ’
- The date bar has been added on the side of the Shared Media page with the new update.
Telegram is rolling out a new 8.2 update, which brings several interesting features. The new update will make it easier for users to find the photos or videos, and also give admins more control over who can join and see the chat with new settings. The messaging platform has also rolled out interactive emojis that will give a full-screen effect for private chats.
The larger idea behind the update seems to make navigation smoother and provide easier access to the media library.
Telegram 8.2 update: New Features
For iOS users, Telegram will now show transit time for shared locations. Users can simply tap on the shared location to pull the map of the surrounding area that will show transit time to get there by foot, car, or public transport. One of the major features that are being made available is the ability to broadcast video and to share the display to an unlimited number of viewers. To use this new feature, users can simply click on the Live Stream button in the title bar of a community where they are an admin.
Telegram also announced two new web versions. These actually went live earlier this month but the company only officially announced them today. Why the two versions? Apparently, they had a contest to build a simplified version of the website and they ended up with two that they really liked so they chose both as the winner.
Telegram has released a new date bar that will appear on the side of the page that will allow users to drag up and scroll down through the shared media faster. Telegram Group admins will now have a preview option. Users can create a group invite link for chats but due to the new “Request Admin Approval” setting, admins will control who can join and see the chats.
