We are talking about the Strom R3, which is a three-wheeler but will give you the comfort of the car. Both Tata cars come under Rs 15 lakh, but still, these three cars are the cheapest among all the electric cars in the Indian market at the moment.

The Strom R3 caught everyone’s attention because of its price and design. It is a fully electric car, in which two people can ride comfortably. It has a big sunroof, due to which you will not feel suffocated in it. In terms of power and range, the Strom R3 electric car can travel up to 200 km on a full charge. According to the company’s claim, it costs 40 paise per kilometer.
The Strom R3 is powered by an AC induction motor of 15KW power, which is capable of generating 90Nm of peak torque. The company claims that this electric car can catch a speed of 80 kilometers per hour (Kmph). It gets Eco, Normal, and Sports driving modes and the company is also planning to add AVFS (Automatic Vehicle Following System) in the future. Talking about the features, it has a touchscreen display of 7 inches size. Apart from this, it also gets 4.3 and 2.4-inch digital auxiliary touchscreens. It has GPS and 4G connectivity with navigation support. Its driver seat can be adjusted in 12 ways.
The Strom R3 is priced at Rs 4,50,000 ex-showroom and is currently available only in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida.
Tata Tigor EV
The Tata Tigor EV’s ex-showroom price in India starts at Rs 11.99 lakh, which is the price of the base XE trim. The XM trim is priced at Rs 12.49 lakh ex-showroom. While the XZ trim is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh ex-showroom. Customers who are willing to buy the car in the dual-tone color option will be available for purchase in the XZ Dual Tone variant at a 13.14 ex-showroom rate.
The Tigor EV comes with a 26kWh liquid-cooled battery that produces 55kW of power and churns out 170Nm of torque. In addition, this battery comes with an IP67 rating, which keeps the battery waterproof. It features Tata’s high voltage architecture – ZipTron – which helps the EV to support fast charging. With the help of a fast charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 60 minutes. This EV has an ARAI-certified 306km full charge range.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
Inside the Tigor EV is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which comes with iRA connected car technology with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. To handle the audio, 4 speakers and 4 Twitter setups have been given. It also gets automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster. For safety, the Tigor EV comes with dual airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), a rear parking camera with parking sensors, and a seat belt reminder for the front passenger. The Tigor EV has also got a 4-star rating in GNCAP’s EV crash test.
Tata has also added Hill Ascent and Hill Descent Assist.
