Donald Trump’s new social media network, Truth Social, got off to a rough start on its launch day. There are thousands of users that are unable to register and others receiving error messages. Though TRUTH Social sits at the #1 spot for free downloads in Apple’s App Store. But, most users can’t get into the app.

The app was available to download shortly before midnight ET and was automatically downloaded to Apple devices belonging to users who had put in pre-orders. However, the app is not available to Android users yet.

TRUTH Social App is facing glitches after the launch

In order to download TRUTH Social, you need to enter your email and date of birth before waiting for a verification email. But at every step of the process, at every step, users are facing error messages. Once we received a verification email, the link yielded more error messages, making it impossible to create an account. Some users have reported being placed on waitlists with over 100,000 users. While others never received verification emails or couldn’t move past the verification step.

There are many users that complain that the sign-up of the app is quite a buggy process.

Devin Nunes, CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), said the app, called Truth Social, would be “fully operational” by the end of March. TMTG is the parent company of the new app.

On Monday morning, Truth Social topped the chart of the most downloaded apps in Apple’s US App Store, beating out the likes of TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

But attempts to download it were met with frustration. Some received the message: “Something went wrong. Please try again.”

One AFP journalist who tries to sign up receives a message: thank you for joining, but an added message that “due to massive demand, we have placed you on our waitlist.
The Truth Social app also seems to be under development. The website is not secured with an HTTPS URL.

In October, Trump announced a plan to merge his media company with a blank-check company called Digital World Acquisition Corp, in a bid to help him regain a social media presence.
