- Twitter rolls out the new Twitter Circle feature globally.
- You will be able to add up to 150 people to your circle
- There is no way to exit the circle
The Microblogging platform Twitter finally rolls out the Twitter Circle feature for all users globally. It first tested this feature with selected people in May. After receiving a great response, the feature is all set to release worldwide.
Twitter Circle is much like Instagram’s Closed Friend Feature. Before posting any tweet, if you don’t want to share it with the whole Tweetverse, you can choose the option to share it with your circle.
What is the Twitter Circle feature?
Twitter Circle is quite similar to the ‘Close Friends’ option on the Meta-owned social media platform. This feature lets you tweet to a select group of people, instead of your entire audience.
This feature is extremely helpful if you want to tweet something funny or personal and want to share it only with selected members.
How will Twitter Circle work?
Twitter Circle feature provides you the option to add up to 150 members to their circle. You can easily remove the members and the Circle will change endlessly. The best thing is that it can’t notify users that they have been removed from a Circle.
However, the tweet will contain the badge which lets people know that the tweet has limited accessibility. The badge will mention that “only people in (@username)’s Twitter Circle can see this tweet.”
But you won’t be able to leave the Twitter Circle if you won’t interested in the Person’s tweet. The only exit route for you is to unfollow or block the person who included you in their Twitter Circle.
How to access the Twitter Circle Feature?
To access this feature, you are first required to install the latest version of the Twitter app. On the homepage, tap on the profile icon which displays a new option for Twitter Circle.
When you tap on the Twitter Circle option, it will display two columns. The first column will show a list of accounts that have already been added to your circle by default. The second column is Recommended, which is populated by accounts that you should add based on the engagement from your own account.
The next step is to select the audience by tapping on the pill shape Add button. One thing you should keep in mind is that you can create only one Circle per account. You can even add the person to your circle who doesn’t follow you.
