  • Users can also change the icon’s background color.
  • WhatsApp group info redesign to highlight call and chat options

After enabling a new payment chat shortcut, to quickly send payments from the chat bar, Facebook-owned WhatsApp is working on another feature for payments called “cashback” for Indian users. The company is aiming to attract new users with the cashback program, especially in India.

It’s not clear which users will get this cashback, or what other terms will be applied, but WABetaInfo says it will be credited after 48 hours of making a payment. This was spotted in WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.21.20.3.

WhatsApp is also updating the group info page to put chat and call buttons front and center. The new design features significantly larger chat, audio, and video call buttons. Even the share button will be prioritized so that all group admins may simply share the invite URL.
