WhatsApp New Features

Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out a blur tool for images to desktop users. This feature will allow users to censure sensitive information from their images in a neat way.

WhatsApp has created two blur tools allowing users to edit their images by using an alternate blur effect. Users can also choose the blur size in order to apply the effect with granular precision.

“Thanks to the blur tool, you can quickly censure sensitive information from your images in a neat way. In June, we also announced that a version of the blur was under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta and it is finally rolling out to some beta testers,” the report noted.

WhatsApp is bringing new Blur Tools for Desktop users

During the development of the feature, WhatsApp has developed two blur tools so you can also edit your images by using an alternate blur effect. In addition, you can choose the blur size so you can apply the effect with granular precision.

According to the report, users will have the option to blur the entire image or choose any particular granular area that they wish to hide with the alternative blur tool.

Users on the WhatsApp Desktop Beta version may check if the feature has been made available to them. They can try this by sending an image and checking if the blur button shows up on the new drawing tool. However, if the option isn’t currently visible users may have to wait for a future update for the tool to be accessible, added the report.

The feature is currently under Beta Testing

In the latest development, WhatsApp introduces a new Status reaction feature for iOS users. WhatsApp users will be able to react to a Status by sending a reaction, just like you can react to a Story on Instagram. In addition to this, the latest update is also bringing the much-awaited undo “delete for me” option.
