Genshin Impact 2.2 pre-installation date, time and process for PC & mobile users

Genshin Impact’s 2.2 update is just around the corner and will release on 13th October on PC, mobile, and PlayStation. As per the information revealed in the special program, the patch will include Thoma, Hu Tao, Tsurumi Island, Polar Star, Wavebreaker’s Fin, Rockfond Rifthound, Rockfond Rifthound Whelp, and more.

Genshin Impact has announced a pre-installation function that will be available on both PC and mobile platforms. The pre-installation function will be available from October 11 at 11 AM (UTC +8) until the time before the version 2.2 update starts. The date mentioned is two days before the Genshin Impact 2.2 update maintenance, which will be released on October 13. It’s worth noting that even after pre-installing the version 2.2 update, users won’t be able to access the unreleased content.

How to pre-install Genshin Impact version 2.2?

For PC users:

Players can open the Genshin Impact launcher and look for the “Game Pre-installation” button that is situated to the left of the “Launch”. If it is not visible, then the player needs to update the launcher. After clicking on the “Game Pre-installation” button, the game will start downloading the latest resources. PC players will be able to able to play the game while the pre-installation takes place in the background.

For Mobile users:

Players need to open Genshin Impact and then go to the “Paimon Menu” by selecting the Paimon icon. Inside the “Paimon Menu” they need to click on “Settings” and then navigate to “Others”. There they can find the “Pre-Install Resource Package” option which will start downloading the resources.

• A new Serenitea Pot realm layout based on Inazuma
• An Anisotropic Filtering graphic setting
• New Serenitea Pot furniture (via Honey)
• New weapons:
  • Brumal Star, a five-star crit rate bow
  • Mouun’s Moon, a four-star attack  bow
  • Akuoumaru, a four-star attack claymore
  • Wavebreaker’s Fin, a four-star attack polearm
