In September 2020, PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite were banned in India. After that, Crafton launched the game’s special edition BGMI for Indians in July last year.

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has claimed that the number of its registered users has crossed 100 million. Developed by South Korean company Crafton, the game was launched in July last year. The game has been continuously updated and added with features since its launch. After the popular battle royale game, PUBG Mobile was banned in India, it was brought to India as Battlegrounds Mobile India. This year Crafton is also planning to introduce new tournaments for BGMI.

Crafton announced on Friday that it has crossed 100 million registered users in India. Crafton CEO Chang’an Kim issued a statement saying that the game’s first year was a great one with millions of players joining it. The company has organized many big tournaments, added Indian themes to the game, and organized events, especially for Indian users.

For gamers, the company is planning to bring four pro and semi-pro BGMI tournaments, which include BMOC, BMPS Season 1, BGIS Season 2, and BMPS Season 2, which will be brought only in 2022. Through these events, users will be given a chance to win a cash prize of up to 60 million. The developer said it has invested Rs 79 crore in India to improve local gaming, e-sports as well as entertainment, and IT industries.

The game is getting updated continuously after the launch.

In September 2020, PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite were banned in India. After that, Crafton launched the game’s special edition BGMI for Indians in July last year. After the launch, the game was given access to transfer the data of the old PUBG Mobile, so that users could bring the old data to the new game through Facebook and Twitter. Since then the game has been continuously updated and new features are being added. The recent May 2022 update brought with it new features like Livik map, Core Circle mode, and Classic Mode. Along with the first-anniversary lobby, it also has in-game items and skin cells for the players.
