Among Us is arriving on Xbox and PlayStation on December 14th. The popular social deduction game will also launch on Xbox Game Pass on the same day and be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series S / X, PS4, and PS5 consoles. The announcement comes months after Sony confirmed Among Us was coming to its PlayStation consoles this year.
In an official news post, Xbox announced that “We’re excited to share the big news that Among Us is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and with Xbox Game Pass on December 14!”
Have friends on other devices? No worries. The PlayStation version of Among Us allows for crossplay so everyone can play together. 4-15 player lobbies are supported with online multiplayer.
Among Us will support crossplay and online multiplayer across mobile, PC, and now consoles. The only difference between the two console versions is PlayStation players will get access to exclusive Ratchet and Clank-themed cosmetics.
In a tweet from Among Us, it was revealed that the next big update would have a few interesting and exciting things.
The first thing announced has the increase in the number of players allowed in the lobby. Earlier, 10 players were the maximum amount but now, Among Us will have 15 player lobbies. New player colors. It’s obvious that with 5 extra players, there will be 5 new colors as well.
Innersloth has also fixed authentication issues that players have been facing when trying to sign in on PC and mobile. Innersloth also released a patch for Among Us on Switch. This brought support for multiple users to log into the same device, translation updates, and more bug fixes.
Among Us players now have the option to change their chat in Settings and change their name in the Account menu. InnerSloth has also fixed a bug for the Nintendo Switch that included allowing multiple users to log in to the same device among other bugs. The developer is also working to add support for the Itch.io gaming platform for downloads.
