After a long wait, Apple Inc. finally rolled out the beta program to make its iPhones support 5G connectivity in India to its beta software platforms. Now, sources said that Apple device owners could access 5G when service providers Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone enable 5G network access.

People are waiting for this update for a long time. Apple confirmed that it has started rolling out the iOS 16 Beta Software Program today. How to access iOS Beta Programme?

Currently, the company’s 5G software will be available as part of the beta program for iOS 16.2. To access iOS Beta Programme, Apple Users must enroll on the Beta Programme on the website, install a profile, and download the software.

The Company reveals that Apple Beta Software Program is open to anyone with a valid Apple ID who accepts the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement during the sign-up process. If a user owns an iCloud account, that is an Apple ID. It advises they use that. They can create one if they do not have an iCloud account or any other Apple ID. The users can even give their feedback to Apple on quality and usability, which helps Apple identify issues, fix them, and make Apple software even better.

5G connectivity on iPhones will work on the iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and the iPhone SE (3rd Gen), among others. The company’s devices will support 5G connectivity from both Airtel and Reliance Jio.

Apple rolls out Beta Update for 5G Connectivity.

It is important to note that this beta program contains lots of bugs and issues, so do not run this software on your primary device. Anyone who wants to try the beta software should back up their iPhones before installing it.

Apple Inc. releases the statement:

“We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance are completed. 5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December”.

As per the reports, the stable version of iOS 16.2 will release sometime in the middle of December. It means the 5G software will also be released around the same time.

Users require to unlock 5G frequency bands to access 5G Services on their devices.

Owing a 5G Compatible Smartphone is not enough. According to experts, even a 5G-ready smartphone requires a software update to remove the lock on the 5G frequency bands. This will let the users access 5G services in India. Recently, the Department of Telecom (DoT) and MeitY announced that they are working on the update.

Oppo and Xiaomi have already rolled out the update for several smartphones, while Samsung promises to bring the update by the next month.

Apple said in the statement:
