PlayStation Stars launches in Asia, with additional markets coming soon

Sony finally launches the much-anticipated Loyalty Programme PlayStation Stars in Asia yesterday. Players will be able to earn loyalty points and digital collectibles by taking part in various activities and challenges. You are free to redeem Loyalty points on a selection of PlayStation Store products.

What is PlayStation Stars Loyalty Program?

PlayStation Stars is a free program that only requires a user to have an adult account on the PlayStation Network. In order to access the portal, users will need to use the PlayStation app on Android and iOS, or access it via the PlayStation.com website. Unfortunately, the experience is not available on consoles at the moment

Under this program,  it will let players do a monthly check-in and play any game in your library or earn a specific in-game trophy. These activities and campaigns will be updated regularly, so it will be worthwhile to keep checking the app.

Launch Dates of PlayStation Stars

  • Asia, including Japan: September 29
  • North and South America: October 5
  • Europe, Australia, and New Zealand: October 13

Requirements to join PlayStation Stars

PlayStation Stars is free to join. You’ll only need to have an adult account for PlayStation Network and accept the program’s Terms of Service. While you will earn certain benefits for being a PlayStation Plus member. A PlayStation Plus membership does not require joining PlayStation Stars.

Under this program, players can earn two types of rewards-  loyalty points and digital collectibles. As of now, points earned can be used to claim prizes in a catalog that could feature items like digital collectibles, PlayStation Store products, and PSN wallet funds.

Digital collectibles are exactly what they sound like. Sony will have a wide range of items available with both standard and ultra-rare variants of items. The collectibles will be able to be arranged on a display case, which can be viewed through the PlayStation app.

When you will be able to access PlayStation Stars?

This program is live for those currently in Asia and the program will be available to those in North and South America starting on October 5. It will gain a wider release on October 13 the program will available in Australia, Europe, and New Zealand.

How to Redeem your points?

Players will be able to find their earn points on PlayStation App under your Player Profile / PlayStation Stars Points History. Gamers can access these points to redeem items from Rewards Catalog. It may include digital collectibles, games, or digital PSN wallet funds.

To redeem your points, go to PlayStation App > Player Profile > Playstation Stars > Rewards Catalog.
