- Twitter Rolls Out Tipping Feature on Android.
- The tipping feature allows users to send and receive money on the platform.
- Tips icon will be visible on Twitter profiles to tip content creators.
Twitter is bringing its tipping feature that allows users to send money to their favorite content creators to Android devices. The microblogging platform introduced the Tip Jar functionality earlier this year to the iOS platform to let creators, journalists, and nonprofits monetize their tweets in the form of tips. Users can share links to their Bandcamp, Cash App, Patreon, Paypal, and Venmo accounts for receiving tips from their followers using this feature.
Twitter confirmed that the tipping feature will be coming to Android via a tweet. Users will be able to add the Tips icon to their profile from the Edit Profile button. As of now, only a limited group of creators, journalists, and nonprofits were receiving the feature. The feature allows users including creators and journalists to monetize their tweets in the form of tips.
Twitter’s Tip Jar feature is a great way for content creators and other public figures to establish new support avenues where their audiences can send them money. Please note that the feature is still rolling out, so you might not have it yet.
Here’s how you can set up the feature:
- Navigate to your profile
- Select Edit profile
- Choose the Tip Jar feature at the bottom
- Enter your account information for the proper application
- Confirm your information
And there you go. You are now set up to receive payments from anyone on the Twitter network. Now you can reap the benefits of your hard work on social media.
Who can send and receive Tips?
You must be at least 18 years old to request, receive, or send tips via Tips or anywhere on our platform.
You can tip to show support, show appreciation, help out or reward anyone you want – from emerging creators and journalists to Twitter Spaces hosts and more. As tipping occurs through third-party payment services, you must also ensure that your tips comply with the terms and policies of those services.
