YouTube Music may soon allow users the ability to create custom radio




The Video Streaming Platform YouTube is all set to introduce a new feature that allows users to make a custom radio list. This feature has been given the name of the “Create a Radio” feature. As per the reports, this feature is currently in the testing phase. However, the stable version of the feature is going to roll out very soon.

Presently, the music streaming platform lets users customize their music queue in the Now Playing section, based on the genre and mood of the song being played.

In the meantime, YouTube Music has also conducted a poll asking users to vote on whether they want the feature on their app or not. The poll titled “what feature do you want the most on ad-supported”. It is really a helpful poll that let the users describe what features do prefer the most. This poll is live for only six days and includes various options such as better recommendations, sleep timer, background play, and improvements to lyrics.

What is YouTube’s new “Create a Radio”Playlist Feature?

According to the reports, when the feature rolls out globally, YouTube Music will let the users customize their music list based on three “Song selection” options — Familiar, Blend, and Discover. In the same way  “Filters” will include — Popular, Deep cuts, New releases, Pump-up, Chill, Upbeat, Downbeat, and Focus. Just like the YouTube Music setup, the app will provide several artist choices for the users to let the app know their preferred choices.

There are many users who noticed this feature and share screenshots of YouTube Music’s customize radio list feature on Reddit. They are able to see this feature due to limited rollout. The worldwide rollout of the feature will take place in a few weeks.

When the feature is going to roll out Globally?

Presently, a few users are able to see this feature. The feature is still in the testing phase. It will be going to roll out soon to Android and iOS users in the coming weeks.

YouTube brings a new feature to curb Spam and Abusive Comments on the Platform

In related news, YouTube has claimed that it receives more than 1.1 billion negative and abusive Comments in the first half of the year 2022. To curb this, the platform rolls out a new update that will help to improve Spam and Abuse detection on their Comments and live chat. This feature will notify the users when any user posts an Abusive comment on your Account. Presently, it will only be able to detect negative comments in the English Language. However, the Company is going to include some more languages in near future.

YouTube said:

“Our goal is to both protect creators from users trying to negatively impact the community via comments, as well as offer more transparency to users who may have had comments removed to policy violations and hopefully help them understand our Community Guidelines”
